Dong’s Acupuncture Lineage
Dong’s Acupuncture, a remarkable medical art, was brought to the world by Mr. Dong Jingchang and has been passed down in Taiwan, gaining international recognition. Through years of meticulous refinement by the second-generation successor, Mr. Li Guozheng, it has not only benefited countless patients but also become a highly promotable medical practice, making a significant contribution to humanity.
Hu Wenzhi, the first-generation direct successor of Dong’s Acupuncture, was born in 1943. In 1964, he became a disciple of Mr. Dong Jingchang and studied under him for nearly 12 years, observing and assisting in clinical practice. Mr. Dong entrusted him with his personal notes, Linzheng Shouza, allowing Hu to fully inherit the authentic techniques of Dong’s Acupuncture.
In 1987, Hu Wenzhi published The Complete Collection of the Latest Practical Dong’s Acupuncture Extraordinary Points, revealing the 72 master points and 32 resolving points of Dong’s Acupuncture. Even today, he continues to practice with great skill and compassion, benefiting countless patients. His extraordinary medical expertise has made him a living legend in the field of acupuncture.
Li Guozheng, the second-generation direct successor of Dong’s Acupuncture, dedicated many years to in-depth research and clinical practice. He ultimately realized Mr. Dong’s teaching: “By thoroughly understanding a single middle finger, one can diagnose and treat hundreds of diseases.” He demonstrated that most of Dong’s Acupuncture points are highly sophisticated holographic applications, with a clear, systematic methodology. From this perspective, Dong’s Acupuncture is an extraordinary practice—easy to learn, easy to understand, safe, effective, and virtually painless—making it highly suitable for wider promotion.
Over several decades, Li Guozheng has devoted himself to writing, teaching, and disseminating the method. By 2020, he had published 38 books on Dong’s Acupuncture and trained 398 disciples. Through his students and readers across the globe, he has significantly spread the medical principles and techniques of Dong’s Acupuncture, leaving a lasting legacy that benefits countless future generations, while directly or indirectly treating innumerable patients.
Cheng Xizhi, the third-generation direct successor of Dong’s Acupuncture, is the last disciple admitted by Li Guozheng in Taiwan. He holds a PhD in Acupuncture and Tui Na from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Since childhood, he has studied Qigong, Chinese medicine, Tai Chi, astrology, and Buddhist and Taoist practices.
Under the guidance of the second-generation successor Li Guozheng, Cheng gained comprehensive insight into the holographic methodology of Dong’s Acupuncture. Combining Qigong, Chinese medical theory, and concepts from quantum mechanics, he discovered that Dong’s acupuncture points integrate holography, Wei-Qi and Ying-Xue theory, Zang-Fu Five Elements, meridians, neurological and myofascial sensing, as well as anatomical principles. The operation of the points often spans material, energy, and informational dimensions, demonstrating extraordinary effectiveness.
Some of these insights have been published in the co-authored book “Acupuncture Universal Holographic Code” (Zhiyuan Publishing) with Li Guozheng. Cheng Xizhi continues to teach Dong’s Acupuncture to his disciples, aiming to follow the legacy of his teacher Li Guozheng and carry forward the vision of Mr. Dong Jingchang. He strives to make profound medical knowledge accessible and understandable, benefiting more people, and this website was established with that purpose in mind.
